If you don’t want to be just a spectator you can get involved in many rides throughout the summer with one of the most famous being La Marmotte on the 3rd of July where 8000 cyclist of all levels go for a crazy 175 km ride. You will be able to subscribe in November on as well as for la Vaujany.

A big Dutch events called Alpe du zes will take place on the 1st of June. This is not just a cycling event, it is done for good cause where people will try to climb de Alpe d’Huez six times in one day to collect money for cancer research.

More local events are organized by the tourist offices like col du series where they will close the road to a famous col each week so you can climb it in peace. No subscriptio and no fee, just a fun ride among alpine cycling fanatics. You will find lot’s of cycling info in the Oisans region here
