Introduction Espace Killy

As our (returning) guests know, Small Wonders offers a lively home of glowing warmth – called Chalet Le Bullou – in the beautiful village of Tignes Les Brévières. The chalet is situated a stroll from the cosy village centre with direct access to some of most exceptional skiing in Europe: L’Espace Killy.

Espace Killy

Therefore let’s provide you with a short introduction of this ski area named after Jean Claude Killy, the triple downhill Olympic winner of Grenoble in 1968. Espace Killy is officially described as Le plus bel espace de ski du monde and encompasses three mountains and two valleys, joining the two skiing regions of Val d‘Isère and Tignes.

For sure it is one of the best ski areas in the world, with unlimited ski slopes for all kind of skiers. There are ultra wide ski pistes, high alpine ski slopes at the two glaciers of the ski-area, FIS World Cup slopes through the woods, the thrilling black slope La Sache or even the world famous racing slope at Rocher de Bellevarde in Val d´Isère – a defused version of the Olympic slope for men that is open to normal skiers.

Espace Killy

Not talking about the numerous off piste possibilities of Espace Killy. For the free riders, the ski-area is an absolute heavens playground. From peaceful itineraries into the resort to fantastic classic routes. Try the adventure and discover some of Espace Killy’s secret spots, by hiring one of our hand-picked mountain guides or ski teachers. They will teach you off piste techniques and then take you on a tour into the wild, with nothing but high mountains, fresh snow and first tracks.

In collaboration with Savoie Helicopteres and some Mountain Guide friends, Small Wonders offers you an unique experience by riding an amazing off piste drop to the authentic village of Bonneval sur Arc, where we have lunch together, to be picked up by helicopter and dropped off at Tignes les Brévières. In our next latest news, we will share you some more details

If you are more into culinary divine, we highly recommend to ski down the tiny village of Le Fornet and enjoy an amazing lunch at Atelier Edmond, whether 2 Michelin Star or classic Bistro dishes, Chef Benoit Vidal will take you on a culinary journey. Or are you all the way up on the glacier slopes of the Grand Motte, pass by Restaurant Panoramique.  Each day, the chef concocts a lunch special to be savored whilst soaking up the breathtaking 360° panoramic view. Accessible on skis or on foot (via the funicular), it is the legendary spot in the Tignes. Ski suit required!

After a sumptuous lunch, the descent towards Val Claret feels like an endless wonderfully prepared slope on which you can make the most beautiful carving curves of your life!

Thanks to mostly blue and red slopes, as well as numerous practice slopes with partially free ski lifts, the skiing region Espace Killy is also the ideal destination for beginners of all ages to gather first experiences on the slope. 821 Snow canons guarantee snow from the end of November to May.
